Get to know me; the human, the mother, the therapist.
Hey there, I’m Vanessa!
I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about who I am and how I ended up on this path of holistic healing.
I was born and raised in Guatemala until I was 11, and some of my earliest memories are of watching my grandmother use natural remedies to care for others. She would give massages to family and friends and brew teas from plants in her garden for things like coughs—she’d even make me tea from bougainvillea when I wasn’t feeling well. That exposure to holistic practices really stayed with me, and it planted the seed for my love of natural healing.
When my family moved to Orange County, I grew up in Mission Viejo and San Clemente, and I graduated from San Clemente High School with a diploma and a Medical Assistant certificate. I spent nearly 10 years working in hospitals, private doctor’s offices, and medical groups. While I learned a lot, I always felt drawn to a more natural approach, just like my grandmother used back in Guatemala.
In 2016, I made a big decision to shift my life toward holistic health. I left my old career and went to holistic school, earning my Holistic Health Practitioner certificate and massage therapy license. I worked for a chiropractor for a couple of years, but I knew I wanted to create something of my own, and that’s how *ReKinect* was born in 2021. Starting my own business has been one of the most fulfilling decisions I’ve ever made.
In 2023, I decided to expand my skills even further by going back to school full-time. I graduated in 2024 with honors, earning my Associate’s degree in Art with a focus on Esthetics, and received my esthetician license. Now, as a new mom to my beautiful 6-month-old, I’m getting back into my holistic routine while balancing life as a mother and practitioner.
Outside of work, I stay grounded by connecting with nature. I have 3 pets, and my home is filled with 31 plants (and counting!). I love hiking, climbing trees, and practicing yoga, especially Bikram. My philosophy is simple: protect your energy and stay grounded.
Most of my clients find me through word of mouth, and I’m truly grateful for that. While I’m not big on social media, I prefer to focus on what’s real, keeping a balance between work and protecting my energy.
I’m passionate about what I do, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to help people heal through holistic practices. I look forward to connecting with you and being part of your wellness journey!
Thank you for getting to know me a little better.
